Coat of Many Colours is a small, purpose-driven studio based in Durban, South Africa.
We began with a simple idea: make excellent, creative things, and serve our hobby community well.
Our name comes from the story of Joseph in the Bible. The coat represented identity, craftsmanship and favour.
For us, it’s a reminder to create boldly, steward what we’re given, and work with integrity.
We're designing a creative range of original miniatures, accessories and hobby tools.
We serve our community - painters, gamers and creators who care about the details.
Our aim is to provide world-class hobby products, while strengthening the local supply chain around us.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart.” – Colossians 3:23
Shipping
How does shipping work?
Orders are processed once production is complete. We use trusted courier partners for nationwide delivery. Tracking details are provided once your order ships. Collection in Durban may be available by arrangement.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. We ship throughout South Africa. Delivery times depend on your location and courier service.
Products & Manufacturing
Are all your products made locally?
Yes. All Coat of Many Colours products are designed and manufactured locally in Durban. We prioritise local sourcing and production wherever possible.
Do you design everything yourselves?
All of our products are designed in-house.
We also print customer-supplied files and may produce licensed designs from third-party creators where permission is granted.
What materials do you print in?
We print using:
SLA Resin – High-detail miniatures and display pieces
FDM Filament – Durable terrain, functional parts, and larger components
Material selection depends on your project requirements.
Do your miniatures come painted?
No. Miniatures are supplied unpainted unless specifically stated. This allows hobbyists to paint and customise their models as desired.
How long does production take?
Production times depend on project size and queue volume.
Standard prints typically take a few working days. Larger or custom projects may take longer. You will receive an estimated turnaround time with your quote.
